When it comes to gaming consoles, which ones do you prefer? Nintendo? Sony? Microsoft? Why do you like that over the others?

First of all here are few points I'll make..
1. You obviously buy a console which can cost around £180-£250, you also buy games that can be expensive and now a days mostly young kids around 12 years old play video games. 2. Since young kids play and probably half of their parents don't allow to pay for online I don't see the point of paying online just to play a game so that is why I don't like microsoft. 3. I've always been a Sony fan and I'll stick with them even though PS4 came out and you need plus to play online which is like xbox kinda sucks.

Just to offer a few counter points. First of all here are few points I'll make.. 1. You obviously buy a console which can cost around £180-£250, you also buy games that can be expensive and now a days mostly young kids around 12 years old play video games. The PS4 Pro goes for £350, and Microsoft's Project Scorpio will probably be around the same, whereas the new Nintendo Switch will be around £300. Current gen console prices are of course a bit lower, but people will buy consoles even when the price exceeds £250, and that even goes for peripherals like VR headsets. The average age of gamers have been around 30 the last few years. www.bigfishgames.com/blog/2015-global-video-game-stats-whos-playing-what-and-whyThe last couple of years, a big selling point for Xbox Live has been the Games with Gold program, where each Xbox Live subscriber gets up to 4 free games per month, 2 for Xbox 360, 2 for Xbox One. And a lot of the time, they're great games too. Other than that I've never minded paying the service. I couldn't tell you where my money goes exactly, but I get free games, stable servers, and Xbox Live has never suffered a serious hack like the PSN has several times.
Myself, console wise I've preferred the Xbox since the original launched. The first one was a superior console to both the PS2, and Gamecube. The Xbox One did start out horrifically disappointing, largely thanks to the mistakes of former Head of Xbox Don Mattrick. But, since that first, terrible E3 presentation, Xbox under the leadership of Phil Spencer has made one right move after the other. Games with Gold, solid innovative and useful software updates, excellent communication with the community, and Project Scorpio, just to name a few highlights. When I was a kid though, Nintendo was still the biggest player, though sadly I haven't enjoyed a single of their consoles since the Gamecube, and I'm not even kind of excited about the Switch.

I'm a fan of the Xbox, hardcore Halo fan. I've been wanting a PS for a while though considering all the exclusives they're getting recently, but I'll make do with what I have. The Xbox Live Gold isn't really that expensive and Microsoft gives out 2 free games every month for people who have Gold. I got most of my games from that, Assassins Creed Blackflag, Murdered: soul suspect, Titanfall, all of the Mass Effect games etc... So I don't see paying a few bucks a month to be such a big deal.
